Kalimena supports clients to optimise outcomes from infrastructure, making a difference for people, business and communities.

Our consulting and advisory services focus on achieving value from infrastructure – improving investment systems, developing infrastructure strategy and policy, evaluating investment options, assessing funding and finance models, designing and commissioning services and monitoring progress on achieving investment objectives and benefits.

We have particular expertise across transport and social infrastructure – education, health and housing; as well as freight and logistics. We are multi-disciplinary where we need to be, to support clients across all these sectors, while also offering real depth of experience in urban transport optimisation.

The Kalimena team is perfectly formed to support you across the full spectrum of infrastructure advisory needs. Our smaller size means that we work together, and with our clients, effectively. We never take on more work than we can deliver if it means compromising on quality or relationships. We understand that our clients need trusted advisors to enable the best outcomes possible for people, business and communities through investment in and operation of infrastructure.

Urban Transportation

Within an urban environment, transport solutions must first and foremost support liveability and productivity. High functioning transport systems are the ones no-one notices – enabling people and goods to move around efficiently across a variety of modes, and minimising the negative impacts on people and on the environment. We identify opportunities to optimise urban transportation outcomes, including wider economic, environmental and wellbeing outcomes, particularly through enhanced public transport solutions and demand management measures, and assess the feasibility and desirability of potential responses.

Social Infrastructure

Social infrastructure includes housing, health and education facilities. Governments invest in social infrastructure to enable the delivery of critical public services, or to intervene where there is market failure impacting on the wellbeing of people and communities. Public sector entities make important decisions on where, what and how to invest or spend a finite pool of taxpayer funds. We are experts in bringing clarity to the choices, trade-offs, benefits and costs so that the right decision is made, and subsequently supporting implementation activities when required.

Freight and logistics

The economy depends on the movement of goods from place of production to place of consumption, and or the efficient re-location of goods when they are no longer needed in their existing location. Infrastructure is required to enable this to happen, alongside policies and regulation to support economic growth. We support our clients to make investments, and develop policies and regulation, based on evidence-led intervention logic.  We can also support operational optimisation and financial analysis and reporting to support improved profitability and better economic outcomes.
